Offer Terms
Last updated November 7, 2026
These terms explain how our current offers on The Wordy Traveler work. They apply alongside our Terms of Service and Refund Policy. If anything here differs from those policies, these terms apply to the offer itself.
A Year of Travel (Annual Subscription)
- $20 off your first year. Taken off automatically at checkout on your first annual payment. It applies once per order and does not apply to renewals.
- Free shipping on every box within the United States for as long as your annual subscription stays active.
- Free gifts ($117 combined retail value): a paperclip bracelet ($29 value), a paperclip necklace ($39 value) and a Blind Date with a Book ($49 value). They are added to your cart automatically, one of each per order, and ship with your first box.
- Billing and renewal. You pay once for the year. Your subscription renews automatically each year at the regular annual price shown on the product page at the time of renewal, unless you cancel before your renewal date. You can cancel anytime from your account.
- Delivery. Your first box arrives within 5 days of your order. After that, a new box arrives each season, by the 15th of January, April, July and October. The boxes do not ship all at once.
Quarterly Subscription
- $10 off your first box on the 1 Fiction 1 Nonfiction, 2 Fiction and 2 Nonfiction boxes, taken off automatically at checkout. It applies to your first box only.
- Shipping. $9 per box within the United States.
- Free gift: a Blind Date with a Book ($49 value), added to your cart automatically, one per order, and shipped with your first box.
- Billing and renewal. After your first box, you are charged the regular quarterly price plus shipping on the 1st of January, April, July and October, and each box arrives by the 15th of that month. Your subscription continues until you skip, pause or cancel, which you can do anytime from your account before your next charge date.
Gift Subscription
- $20 off, free shipping and the same free gifts as A Year of Travel (paperclip bracelet, paperclip necklace and Blind Date with a Book, $117 combined retail value), one of each per order.
- One payment. A gift subscription is charged once and does not renew.
- Delivery. The first box arrives within 5 days of your order, so a gift ordered during our holiday sale arrives well before the holidays. After that, a new box arrives each season, by the 15th of January, April, July and October.
- Gift notes are saved with your order. Enter the recipient's name and address as the shipping address at checkout to send it straight to them.
Cart rewards
- Orders of $79 or more receive a free travel souvenir, added in your cart automatically. No code needed. One per order, while supplies last. The souvenir may change if one runs out.
- Cart rewards are based on your cart total after discounts and before taxes.
Free gifts
- Free gifts are available while supplies last. If a gift is unavailable, we may substitute an item of equal or greater value.
- Free gifts have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.
- If you return or cancel an order, any free gifts that came with it are not refundable.
- Values shown are our regular retail prices for each item.
General
- Offers apply to orders shipped within the United States unless stated otherwise.
- Discounts are applied at checkout. Your order total, including any discounts, shipping and taxes, is shown before you pay.
- Offers cannot be applied to past orders and have no cash value.
- Box contents change each season, so books, tea and keepsakes may differ from those shown in photos and videos.
- We may change or end an offer at any time. Changes do not affect orders already placed.
- We reserve the right to limit or cancel orders that misuse an offer, such as repeated sign-ups to collect first-order discounts or gifts.
